Project name:
Spencer West Wing Renovation
Swiss Appeal Design + Construction was engaged to renovate a master bedroom suite and guest bedroom suite by the homeowner of a luxurious lake front home. This beautiful home was constructed in 2000 and incorporated contemporary architectural convention of that period. Specifically, the bedroom suites were designed at angles with odd dimensions and odd sight lines resulting in too much wasted space.
We worked with a new design to create a visually appealing and effective & efficient use of space. To successfully accomplish this redesign, we first drafted structural and building plans for the project. We removed odd-angle walls, added temporary supporting walls, and inserted new joists to the exterior walls to carry the weight of a new expansive ceiling – a total reconfiguration. Bedrooms and bathrooms were reframed to the new, rationalized design. Radiant heating was installed in both redesigned bathrooms as well as a steam shower in the master bath. A new walk-in closet was constructed with full custom cabinetry.
To complete the project, we refaced the existing fireplace with stone veneer and constructed a bold new mantle. New flooring was installed and woven in to match existing. Baths were tiled and rooms painted per owner’s preferences. In the end, this project delivered a large, fresh, and contemporized living space for the client to enjoy for years to come.
